counseling

Private · Clinical · For people in Washington

Together we'll explore what you're carrying, whether that's grief, burnout, the invisible weight of parenthood, the pressure to shrink yourself to fit into spaces that weren't built to hold your full self, the toll of showing up every day inside a broken system, generational patterns you're ready to break, or simply the exhaustion of trying to hold everything together. Sessions are collaborative. You set the pace. I follow your lead. This is formal clinical work, which means it's structured, confidential, and held to the full standard of care you deserve.

community healing workshops

Group format · Psychoeducational · Community-centered

These workshops are not group therapy (although they can be very therapeutic). They're something different and, for many people, something more immediately accessible. They're structured healing spaces built around a shared experience, where the community itself becomes the resource.

You'll leave with real tools, real skills, and real relationships.

Workshops are available as open community sessions, or hosted directly with your organization — whether that's professional development for a school, leadership training for a nonprofit, or building this kind of space into any team or community that wants it.

See the Workshops page for current offerings and formats.

School & Organizational Consultation

I partner with administrators, district leadership, business owners, and organizational teams to build systems that genuinely support the mental health and wellbeing of the people they serve without losing sight of those who need the most support right now. Drawing on experience with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and anti-oppressive practice, I help organizations move from good intentions to concrete, sustainable action. The goal is never just a better framework—it's a team that believes in it and people who feel it.

Available for professional development and ongoing embedded partnerships.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does “decolonizing therapy” mean?

Decolonizing therapy means questioning who traditional mental health frameworks were built for. Many healing models default to the narratives of specific groups—often White, neurotypical, able-bodied, male, heterosexual, and cisgender people—and treat that as the standard for everyone. Without examining that default, therapy can unintentionally blame you for who you are or how you think, instead of recognizing your reaction as a legitimate response to systems that don't see you, or that harm you in ways our society treats as normal.

In our work together, we can look at how to keep those very real reactions from turning into self-blame or self-criticism. And we can use the agency you do have to shift what's actually within your control, even while the wider systems around you are still catching up to recognizing your story.

Do you take insurance?

I'm private-pay only and don't bill insurance directly. What I can offer is a superbill—an itemized receipt with the codes your insurance needs—for you to submit yourself. If your plan has out-of-network benefits, you may get partially reimbursed, though that depends entirely on your specific plan. I work this way intentionally: as an eclectic practitioner drawing on multiple modalities with evidence-based backing, through a decolonizing lens, staying outside the insurance system gives me the clinical flexibility to use my professional judgment in how I support you, rather than being boxed in by what a diagnosis-driven, insurance-dictated model allows.

Do you offer sliding scale?

I know we can all fall on hard times, and $195 per session can be tough for some people. I do offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots during times of economic hardship. Let's talk about it together and come up with a plan that works.

How do the community healing groups differ from group counseling?

Group counseling is formal clinical treatment. It's led by a licensed therapist (me!), built around your individual treatment goals, and held to the same confidentiality and standard-of-care requirements as individual therapy, including a clinical diagnosis, if applicable, and a formal therapeutic relationship.

Community healing workshops aren't therapy, though they can be genuinely therapeutic. They're structured around a shared experience such as burnout, generational patterns, the exhaustion of holding up broken systems, and the community itself becomes part of the healing, not just me. There's no diagnosis, no individual treatment plan, and no expectation that you're 'in treatment.' You come as you are, with people who get it, and leave with real tools and real relationships.
